Entry 66
Been awhile since I have bothered to write in this journal. Although in reality there really has been nothing worthy of writing. I feel better, the infection and the impact of the infection seems to be behind me. I would not say I am back to 100% but I do not have the luxury of waiting until that time. My food and water have reached a critically low point. It has lasted longer than I expected, and for a moment I could pretend I was just sick at home.
Now that I am not burning up, I have noticed the chill in the air seems to last longer into the day. For the moment I am fine, hopefully I will feel better by the time I have to try and winterize the apartment.
I was able to muster enough energy to do a careful check to ensure no zombies had managed to find a way in while I was down. After resting a bit I bundled up and headed to the balcony and watched the streets for the rest of the day. I am not sure what I was hoping would have changed in the last while, but the city was silent and still. There are likely more zombies hidden away like the one which bit me.
As it cooled off I headed inside and looked at the recovering wound, it hard to believe that I was able to survive such a nasty wound without going to a hospital. I suppose I should read up on some first aid in the near future.
I feel a bit safer knowing a single scratch or bite cannot change me. It makes sense a bite from something which is rotting would get infected. Not to say I can be less careful, but at least when I deal with them it is one less thing to worry about.
So here I am, alive. Where should I go to find food and water?
